It’s down to one game, at 6 pm, in the PEI Women’s Curling Club Championships at the Crapaud Community Curling Club, with the Charlottetown Curling Club rink skipped by Shelly Bradley, taking on the 2020 championship rink, skipped by Veronica Smith out of the Silver Fox in Summerside. Smith was ranked second in the round-robin, and beat the third-place Montague team, skipped by Lynn Anne Brousseau 7-3 in the semi-final to advance to the championship game against first-place Charlottetown All three teams had 4-1 win-loss records in the round-robin, and last stone delivery results were used for championship round placement.
The modified triple knockout format men’s championship in Montague is also down to two teams, and a win by the unbeaten Silver Fox rink skipped by Darren Higgins in any of the next three games (the “C” Qualifier and the two Championship Round games) would give them the championship, while their opponents the 2020 Champs, also from the Fox, skipped by Ed White, would have to win all three matches. The “C” Qualifier goes at 6 pm Sunday while the Championship Round, if necessary, goes at 10 am and, if needed, 2 pm on Monday. The 2020 Champs advanced to the “C” Qualifier with a 7-2 win over the Cornwall Curling Club team skipped by Robbie Doherty, on Sunday afternoon. The defending champs were leading 4-2 after 6, and stole a triple in the seventh to put the game out of reach for the Cornwall squad.
