Weekend recap: Ella Lenentine team wins Lakeshore’s Canada Games Div., Team Bradley loses Dave Jones Cashspiel Semi to event winner Crawford, Team Snow finishes 2nd at Lakeshore U21 event

Three PEI teams were in the Championship Round in Halifax area events on the weekend. Team Snow finished 2nd in the Lakeshore Curling Cashspiel U21 junior men’s event, losing 6-3 to Nova Scotia’s Ryan Strang in the final. Shelly Bradley and her team lost to Andrea Crawford in the semi-final round at the Dave Jones Stanhope Simpson Insurance spiel at the Mayflower. Crawford went on to win the event with a 9-4 victory over the Jill Brothers foursome, which includes Islander Erin Carmody.

Meanwhile, Team Ella Lenentine doubled Team Slauenwhite 8-4 in the final to win the Canada Games division at Lakeshore. They’re heading to the Truro Curling Club Cashspiel next weekend.

PEI’s Team Rachel MacLean was in the Lakeshore Junior Women’s event, while Veronica Smith competed in the Dave Jones spiel, but they didn’t advance to the money round.
