Day 3 of the PEI Canada Games Curling Trials brought heartache and joy as we moved closer to crowning our winners and 2023 Canada Games Curling representatives for PEI.
The day began with a tie breaker match in the girl’s division between Team Carver and Team Easter, with the winner moving on to play Team Lenentine in a best of 3 series. The morning draw was a back and forth affair until the final end when Team Easter put up a single point to take the game 7-6 and move onto the playoff round.
The afternoon draw, which was game 1 for both the boy’s and girl’s division best of 3 series, was a more decisive one. Lenentine took game 1 by a score of 8-1 over Easter, and Team Snow rebounded from yesterday’s final round robin loss to take game 1 over Team Rochford by a score of 8-4.
Sunday Lenentine and Snow will look to wrap things up with a win in game 2 beginning at 10AM, while Easter and Rochford will be looking to avoid elimination and force a game 3 in the afternoon (at 2PM).
All games will be played at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex in Summerside.
