The P.E.I. Curling Association – Labatt Tankard opening field of 14 teams has been whittled down to the eight teams who will compete in the Final Eight provincial championship in Montague Feb. 10 to 15.
The curling association seeded eight teams, based on their results in the cashspiel circuit, and six of those teams have advanced to Montague, starting with third seed Rod MacDonald who defeated number one seed, clubmate and former teammate Mike Gaudet 6-2 in the first qualifier game of the weekend Saturday.
