PEI Mutual Canada Games Tournament to be held at Cornwall

Island athletes with dreams of competing in the Canada Winter Games in Halifax in 2011 will have the opportunity to try out for up to thirteen winter sports throughout the next few months. The PEI Mutual Canada Games Trials replace what was formerly known as the Provincial Games. The Trials will provide a coordinated approach for sports organizations to begin preparing Island athletes and teams to participate in the 2011 winter games.

Throughout the winter and early spring months, provincial sporting organizations will host events that will allow them to identify those age eligible athletes with the most ability and potential to represent their sport in 2011.

The sport of curling is holding a team-entry Canada Games tournament, open to PEI curlers born after January 1st, 1993 and before December 31, 1998. The tournament will be held March 28 and 29 at the Cornwall Curling Club. Entry fee is $50 per team, and entry deadline is March 16.

The entry form is available at PEICurling.com.
