First place Gallant wins final round-robin game at Worlds

At the World Juniors in Vancouver, Canada’s Brett Gallant rink, who have been assured a playoff spot since Tuesday, won their final round-robin game this morning against Team USA, skipped by Chris Plys, by a 9-3 score, to lockup first place with an 8-1 record.  Denmark, who have also qualified for the playoff round with a 6-2 win-loss record, beat Norway 9-6 in the other game in the draw.

The final junior men’s  round-robin draw goes at 9:30 pm Atlantic.

On the junior women’s side, Canada’s Kaitlyn Lawes rink has also qualified for the playoff round,  in second place with a 6-2 record, behind Scotland at 7-2.  Canada plays Sweden at 5 Atlantic.
