All three PEI rinks advance to CFB Halifax money round

Three Island teams, skipped by Brett Gallant, Rod MacDonald, and Eddie MacKenzie, are at the Fifth Annual Fall Cash Spiel, hosted by CFB Halifax, and all three will be playing in the quarter-finals, which get underway at 9 this morning. All three won their respective round robin pools, with 4-1 win-loss records. MacDonald will play a rink listed as “Sterling/Palmer”, while MacKenzie faces Paul Dobson of Saint John, with the winners advancing to one of the noon semi-finals.

In the other flight,  Gallant takes on Jamie Christianson of Halifax, while Haligonian Jamie Murphy will battle Mark Kehoe of Windsor. The winners will face off in the noon semis. The final goes at 3 pm.

The winning rink will pocket $1400, with $1000 going to the runner-up. The other semi-finalists will take home $600, while the losing quarter-finalists will go home with $400.
