PEI rink slips to second at Scotties (Transcontinental)

Island foursome drops game to Ontario in a battle of first-place teams

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. ­ — Ontario knocked P.E.I. out of first place at the 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Tuesday night.
Krista McCarville and her rink from the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay defeated Kathy O’Rourke and her Charlottetown Curling Club rink 9-3 in a first-place showdown.
“It’s going to be a tough game and the fans are obviously going to be in favour of Ontario,” O’Rourke said after P.E.I.’s 7-4 win over Nova Scotia’s Nancy McConnery in the morning draw. 
Ontario improved to 6-1  while P.E.I. dropped into a second-place tie with Team Canada’s Jennifer Jones at 5-2.
