MacDonald 2-3, Berry 1-4 at Canadian Seniors

In Monday play at the World Financial Group Canadian Seniors in Ottawa, Charlottetown’s Peter MacDonald rink picked up a 9-2 win over Manitoba, but lost 7-6 to Northern Ontario’s Al Hackner,  a two-time (1982, 1985) Brier and world champion, and 2006 Canadian Seniors champ. MacDonald is at 2-3.

Cornwall and Charlottetown’s Shirley Berry team are 1-4, after losing 12-5 to Manitoba, and 10-9 to Northern Ontario in an extra end.

Both PEI rinks play Saskatchewan today, and MacDonald plays Quebec this evening.

Saskatchewan’s Brad Heidt and Susan Lank rinks top the standings with 5-0 win-loss records. New Brunswick is second in the women’s section, at 4-1.
