The Souris Curling Bonspiel, with 40 teams taking part, gets underway on Thursday at the Eastern Kings Sports Arena. It’s the first bonspiel in the area since the Souris Curling Club closed in 1992. Four sheets of curling ice have been installed at the hockey arena. The original rocks from the Souris Curling Club, plus an extra set borrowed from the Montague Curling Club are being used for the bonspiel.
