O’Leary teams competing in Atlantic Under 18 Ch’ships this weekend

Teams from across Atlantic Canada begin play on Friday at the Atlantic Under 18 Curling Championships at the Riverside Golf and Curling Club in Rothesay NB. PEI is represented by the  Sylvan Learning Provincial 17 and Under champions, the Tiffany Sweet and Matthew MacLean rinks from the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary. Other members of the Sweet team are Chantal Clements, Kathleen O’Meara, and Laura O’Meara, with coaches Ralph and Clair Sweet. Playing with MacLean are Marshall Smallman, Kevin Gallant, and Alan MacLean, with coach Glen MacLean.

Round robin draws go Friday at 2:30 and 7 pm, Saturday at 10:30 am and 2:30 and 9 pm, and Sunday at 9 am.

The top two teams from the junior men’s and women’s round robins will advance to the championship finals, while third and fourth place teams will square off in the consolation finals. All finals are Sunday at 1 pm.

Next year’s Atlantic Under 18 championships will take place at the Charlottetown Curling Club.
