The 49th Gold Cup Parade takes place on Friday in Charlottetown, with Prime Minister Stephen Harper scheduled to be in attendance, and perfect weather expected. The 2010 Scotties silver-medallist Kathy O’Rourke rink, which includes Erin Carmody, Geri-Lynn Ramsay, and Tricia Affleck, will be this year’s parade marshals. The 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, to be held in Charlottetown from February 19-27, will have a float in the parade, which has close to 100 entries.

Eastlink TV will cover the event live, beginning at 10:30 am.
