Prince Edward Island will be represented by a men’s team from Montague at the second annual The Dominion Curling Club Championship, which will take place at the Charlottetown and Cornwall Curling Clubs from November 24-28.
Fourteen men’s and women’s teams from all provinces and territories will compete. The first draw will be Wednesday, November 24 at 10am at both clubs and opening ceremonies will start at 7:30pm later that day at the Cornwall Curling Club.
The PEI women’s team is from Summerside.
This Montague team has been together for one year and won the provincial tournament in March to earn the right to represent the Island.
“It’ll be fun,” Donald Clarey said. “I’m looking forward to playing the other provinces.” For him, Larry Richards and Cameron Lerch it will be the first national tournament.
Michael Clarey played in the nationals two years ago. His advice to the others is to simply play their game.
“You think there’s going to be a lot of pressure but there’s not, really. It’s just fun.”
See thedominioncurls.ca for the full schedule as well as live streaming. Admission is free.
