December 5th is the entry deadline for PEI’s first provincial curling championship of the season, the Pepsi Juniors, for curlers age 20 and under, which takes place January 2-4 at the Montague Curling Club. There will be a new junior men’s champion this year, as Brett Gallant of Charlottetown, who skipped the last five junior men’s winning teams, along with a Canadian Championship and a World silver medal, has elected to move up to the Labatt Tankard men’s event this year. Defending junior women’s are the Sarah Fullerton rink from Cornwall. This year’s champions will advance to the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors, January 29-February 5, 2011, in Calgary Alberta.

Entry fee is $45 per player. Enter online at PEICurling.com.
