Work well underway for Scotties host city (Guardian)

By Al MacLeod.

An event like the Scotties Tournament of Hearts doesn’t just come together.

It takes a lot of committed individuals and volunteers to ensure every little aspect is taken care of from the promotion of the event to the overhauling of the venue to host it.

Enter event manager Rob Dewhirst and sponsorship and marketing administrator Kelly Murphy.

Dewhirst, who has been with the Canadian Curling Association since 2000, and Murphy, who started with the Association just last year in 2009, have been put in charge to make sure the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts runs smoothly when it comes to Charlottetown Feb. 17-27 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
