The Mel Bernard rink from Summerside’s George R. Pearkes V.C. branch of the Royal Canadian Legion beat the Grant Somers rink, also from Summerside by a 9-4 score in this afternoon’s final of the PEI Legion Curling Championship at the Montague Curling Club.
Somers won the A final of this double knockout event on Saturday afternoon, defeating Bernard 7-3. The same teams met again in the B final Sunday morning, with Bernard stealing a 5-ender in a 10-3 win to advance to this afternoon’s championship game, and win a repeat trip to the Dominion Legion Curling Championship, which will take place March 19-25, in Hudson Quebec.
Six rinks took part in the PEI Legion Curling Championship.
