Anita Casey, from Seven Mile Bay PEI, was third stone on the Saint Mary’s University team who defeated UPEI’s Sarah Fullerton rink 12-9 in the women’s final at the Atlantic University Curling Championships, held recently at the Wolfville Curling Club. Her brother Adam Casey skipped the runner-up men’s team from Dalhousie University, who lost 7-6 to SMU in the final. Summerside native Neil Gallant played third stone on Adam’s team.
Both winners will represent the Atlantic Conference at the CIS/CCA University Championship in St. John’s, NL from March 9-13, 2011.
As hosts of the CIS event, Memorial University of Newfoundland will be represented by a men’s team and a women’s team as well.
