Rough start to Ch’ship for Overton-Clapham (Winnipeg Free Press)

(By: Paul Wiecek) CHARLOTTETOWN — Manitoba’s Cathy Overton-Clapham got off to a shaky start here on Draw 1 at the Canadian womens curling championship Saturday afternoon, falling 8-6 to Saskatchewan’s Amber Holland.

Overton-Clapham, a five-time Canadian champion but making her debut as a skip at this event, was in familiar fine form from the outset of the game. But her teammates struggled mightly in the early going as Manitoba fell behind 7-2 through six ends.
