CCA/Golf Channel, OTTAWA, ON, September 29, 2011…. Golf Channel and the Canadian Curling Association (CCA) recently partnered on creative content for the Golf Channel’s highly successful GolfNow travel show.

GolfNow selected the nation’s capital city, Ottawa, in an effort to showcase both premier golf courses in the region as well as other iconic activities to do in Canada. The Canadian Curling Association was selected to be profiled on the show after presentations were made to the production selection team.

GolfNow has a major following in Canada and is especially popular in the United States and international markets. Previous shows have showcased the likes of Washington (DC), Las Vegas (NV), Dublin (Ireland) and other international sites. Host Lauren Thompson promotes the City of Ottawa in the latest episode and then profiles the sport of curling while taking her first-ever curling lesson from Ottawa native and former Brier and World Champion – Craig Savill.

The Canadian Curling Association was instrumental in securing an arena and arranging curling ice, site preparation and the coordination of all logistics to help further expose the sport in non-traditional markets. Craig Savill, a National Team Program athlete, acted as an ambassador of the game and helped champion the profile of the sport.

The show premieres Monday, October 3, at 9:00 pm ET (10 pm Atlantic) on the Golf Channel. Check your local listings for programming information. Video clips of the curling segment of the show are also available exclusively at www.curling.ca and www.GolfChannel.com.
