(The Guardian) The Alex Matters foursome from Charlottetown went undefeated to win the 20 and Under division of the Sackville Junior Open cashspiel in Sackville, NB, over the weekend.

Matters defeated Jeff Taylor of Cornwall 5- 2 in the final.

The game was highlighted by a double takeout that buried to steal one point in the sixth end by mate Christopher Gallant, who throws fourth stone for Matters.

Gallant then drew to the four-foot for the win in the final end.

Other members of the Matters rink, which is the reigning Atlantic under- 18 boys’ champion, are second Kyle Holland, lead Andrew Cameron and coach Peter Gallant.

The next event on the junior circuit is the Fall Fling this weekend at the Silver Fox club in Summerside.
