Update on Atlantic Canada Coaches “A Podium Project” Workshop in Crapaud Dec. 3-4

The PEI Curling Association and Curl Atlantic are hosting an Atlantic Canada Coaches Workshop at the Crapaud Community Curling Club on December 3 & 4. The workshop is part of the Podium Project, an initiative through Sport Canada and the Canadian Curling Association, which focuses on the training and preparation of curlers in the 12-15 age group, using guidelines set out in the Long Term Athlete Development program.

Canadian Curling Association (CCA) National Coach Consultant Pat Reid will be the main presenter at this 2-day classroom and on-ice, workshop, making it wonderful opportunity for Island coaches. Pat’s coaching experience ranges from Junior, Provincial, National, International and Olympic teams over the past 25 years. She was  team leader for the Sandra Schmirler Olympic Gold medal team at the 1998 Olympics.

Sessions on Saturday and until noon hour Sunday will primarily be focusing on coaches who are or may potentially be working with Junior Teams 12 – 15 years of age in the next few years.

The Sunday afternoon session from 1:00 – 5:00pm will be open to coaches of older Junior and Adult Teams.

Cost: $25.00 per person (Saturday, and Sunday until noon), $10.00 per person Sunday 1:00-5:00 pm.
