The event will take place from Feb. 26 to March 3.

Venues for the various events include Credit Union Place, Rotary Park, Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club and the St. Eleanor’s Community Centre.

“The games are hosted on a rotation basis with four communities, Summerside, Charlottetown, Stratford and Cornwall. Summerside last hosted them in 2008,” said Eugene Murphy, president of the 55+ Games.

“Over the last few winter games there were approximately 600 people who participated in up to 20 sports. So, it is a pretty good social gathering and an opportunity for friendly competition.”

Registration forms are circulated during the first week of January to all past participants and the forms will also be available at all Access P.E.I. sites and at Vogue Optical outlets across the Island.

Sports and leisure activities scheduled for this event include Cribbage, walking, skating, hockey, bowling, darts, swimming, bridge, auction 45, curling, cross-country skiing, Scrabble, spinning, racquetball, squash and crokinole.
