Kevin Ellsworth rink wins PEI Legion title

(albertoncurlingclub.ca)The local St. Anthony’s Legion team skipped by Kevin Ellsworth of the WCCC has won the PEI Provincial Legion Championship for 2012. The tournament which ran from January 6 to 8 saw eight teams from across the Island compete for top honours. The runner up team was from the Charlottetown Legion Branch #1.

Kevin’s team last won this championship in 2007 and that year went on to win the national legion championship. This year the national championships will be held this coming March in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The 2012 provincial Legion winning team (L to R): lead John Ellsworth, second David Bell, mate Blaine Hutt and skip Kevin Ellsworth. The trophy was presented by Eldon Doucette, the vice-president and sports chairman of the Legion’s PEI Command.
