PEI’s Suzanne Birt rink have advanced to the championship round at the International Bernese Ladies Cup in Bern Switzerland, missing their first chance on the B side of the event, with a 7-6 loss to Silvan Tirinzoni of Switzerland, but winning in C, 6-3 over Anna Sidorova of Russia. Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg and Michelle Jaeggi qualified on the A side, with Tirinzoni, and Jan Betker of Regina qualifying in B.

The quarterfinals go Sunday at 8 am Central European Time (3 am Atlantic), with Birt scheduled to take on Betker, followed by the semis at 12:45 CET and the final and consolation final at 2 pm (9 am Atlantic).
