Crystal Webster rink, with PEI’s Carmody and Ramsay, advance to Alberta Scotties playoff round

The Crystal Webster rink, which includes PEI natives Erin Carmody and Geri-Lynn Ramsay, beat the defending champion Shannon Kleibrink team 9-7 this afternoon to grab the final spot in the playoff round at the Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Leduc. Webster was in front 8-7 coming home with hammer, and scored a single point in the final end for the win.

Qualifying in the A event was Jessie Kaufman, while Heather Nedohin took the B. The Val Sweeting rink  took the first C slot, beating Cheryl Bernard, while Webster grabbed the second.  The first three qualifiers are from Edmonon, while the Webster team are from Calgary.

The Page 1-2 game at 9:30 this evening PEI time will pit Kaufman against Nedohin, with the winner advancing direcctly to the 5 pm AT Sunday final, and the loser playing the winner of this evening’s 9:30 Atlantic Page 3-4 game between Sweeting and Webster in the semi-final, Sunday at 12:30 pm AT. The semi winner will then meet the Page 1-2 winner in the Alberta Scotties final, Sunday at 5 pm Atlantic.
