In addition to the world championship bronze medal, Sunday’s victory also put the Heather Nedohin team in the all-important second spot on the Canadian Team Ranking System behind only Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg. Because Jones has already qualified for the 2013 Tim Hortons Olympic Trials, the second-place finisher this season will get a Trials berth, and Nedohin can nail it down with a solid finish at the season-ending Players’ Championships in Summerside, P.E.I., next month.
