PEI drops to 1-5 at Postal Curling Championships

At the 46th Canadian Postal Employees Curling Classic at the Cloverdale Curling Club in Surrey BC.  PEI, represented again this year by the rink of Bob Cameron (skip), Eldon Kilbride (3rd), Regan Kenny (2nd) and Mike Bernard (lead), lost both their Tuesday games to fall  to 1-5, losing 11-10 in an extra end to Newfoundland and Labrador, and 10-1 in only six ends to unbeaten Saskatchewan, tied at the top of the standings with Alberta at 5-0.

The Island squad play Northern Ontario at 9:30 this morning, and have the bye in the afternoon draw, which is at 2:30 BC time.

Last year’s champions, the Brent MacDougall team from Nova Scotia, are tied with Northern Ontario at 4-2, while New Brunswick is 3-2, BC is 3-3, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador are 2-3,  Ontario is 1-4, PEI is 1-5 and Manitoba is 0-6.

Round robin play continues today with games at 9:30 am and 2 pm, Thursday play at 2 and 7 pm, and the final round robin draw Friday April 6 at 9:30 am. Tiebreakers, if needed, and the Page playoffs go later on Friday, with the semi-finals Saturday at 9 am, and the finals following at 1:30 pm (all times local-add 4 hours for PEI time).
