SASKATOON, SASK. – Stefanie Lawton is anxious to get back in the competitive curling scene.
“It’s been three months we’ve had off, and it’s almost like a new curling season for us,” said Lawton. “We’re pumped for the Players’ Championship.”

Lawton and her Saskatoon-based rink of third stone Sherry Anderson, second stone Sherri Singler and her sister, lead Marliese Kasner, are one of the eight women’s teams in the Grand Slam of Curling Players’ Championship in Summerside from April 17 to 22.
“We’re very, very excited, I’ve never been to P.E.I.,” said Lawton. “It’s going to be tough (competition).
“We have six top Canadian teams, and two European teams. Over the past few years, we haven’t seen that many European teams in the Players’ Championship.”
The Jennifer Jones, Sherry Middaugh, Heather Nedohin, Cathy Overton-Clapham and Chelsea Carey Canadian rinks, along with Scotland’s Eve Muirhead and Silvana Tirinzoni from Switzerland, will join Lawton.
