PEI curling team wins Montague tournament (Eastern Graphic)

Mike Gaudet and his curling team became the first PEI winners of the third annual Montague fall spiel.

The game was tied (5-5) at the end of the sixth inning.

Mr .Gaudet’s team had the hammer at the end of the seventh end, and scored five points on the last shot, bringing the fnal score to 10-5.

The defeated Nova Scotians were headed by skip Rob Harris, who won a Canadian Championship in 2004.

The PEI team won more than bragging rights; they won about two thousand dollars for the top prize.
