The Montague Curling Club is looking at a costly bill for repairs after the ice melted last Monday.

The rink has been playable as of last Thursday, but three days of ice time were lost and paint on the circles has bled.

“Now I’ve got tie-dyed ice,” manager Larry Richards said. “It’s playable, it just doesn’t look pretty.”

A melt was caused by a break in the facility’s brine pump, which circulates cooled brine through pipes that run under the ice to control the temperature.
