The Pepsi Juniors banquet was held this afternoon in the hall upstairs from the Cornwall Curling Club. Among those on hand to wish the curlers success at this and future events was Curl PEI President George Koke, Cornwall Curling Club event coordinator Karen Currie, Cornwall Curling Club Junior Representative Brenda MacMillan, Charlie Seaman, representing long-time sponsor PepsiCo, and Hon. Ron McKinley, local MLA and Minister of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development. During the banquet, Charlie Seaman made the announcement of a five year sponsorship renewal by PepsiCo for the PEI Junior Curling Championship.

Guest speaker was Katie Beck, a kinesiologist who spoke on the many support persons available to athletes on Prince Edward Island, including sport psychologists, physiotherapists, fitness trainers, and nutritionists.
