Deuces were wild for the Suzanne Birt rink Sunday night.

The foursome of third Shelly Bradley, second Sarah Fullerton and lead Leslie MacDougall scored deuces in the second, sixth and eighth ends to win the Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial women’s curling championship. Suzanne Birt yells to her sweepers during Sunday night’s championship game against Kim Dolan at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial women’s curling championship in Charlottetown.

“It’s awesome,” Bradley said after the win. “We have a really, really tough pool of women here in P.E.I., so to finish off undefeated is really impressive. It really makes us feel great about all the work we’ve put in this year.”

We knew we were prepared for tonight,” said Birt, who has won seven provincial Scotties championships.

The Birt rink, coached by Peter Gallant, will compete at the nationals in Kingston, Ont., from Feb. 16 to 24.
