The Summerside Fire Department’s Gordon MacFadyen rink are again representing Prince Edward Island at the Canadian Firefighters Curling Championship, now in its 54th edition, which is hosted this year by the Saint John Fire Department and the New Brunswick Firefighters Curling Association, and gets underway Saturday, and concludes the following Saturday at the Thistle St. Andrew’s Curling Club. It’s the fourth year in a row representing PEI for skip MacFadyen, third Leo Stewart, and second stone Jim Arsenault, who are joined this year by lead Jason Cameron.

Opening ceremonies go Saturday at noon, with the opening round robin draw following at 1 pm. The team draw will not be made until their Ladder Draw Friday evening in front of the host hotel. Daily draws go at 9:30 am and 2:30 pm Sunday through Thursday, with tiebreakers, if necessary, and the Page playoff round going Friday. The semi-final takes place Saturday March 30 at 9 am, with the final at 1 pm.
