Island native Alan Mayhew wins coaching award at CIS/CCA Championships

PEI native Alan Mayhew, a PEI Sports and PEI Curling Hall of Fame member as one of the players on the 1977 World Junior Curling championship team skipped by Bill Jenkins, was the recipient of the male Coaching award at the CIS/CCA Curling Championships, as coach of the Robert Mayhew rink from Acadia. Alex Trites from the same team was the recipient of the male Sportsmanship award, while the team’s lead Ben Creaser made the first all-star team.
