Summerside’s MacFadyen rink drops opener to defending champs at Canadian Firefighters in Saint John

One draw is in the books after opening day play at the 54th Canadian Firefighters Curling Championships in Saint John NB, with the 4-time PEI champions from the Summerside Fire Dept., skipped by Gordon MacFadyen, losing their opener by a 9-5 score to Jeff Zechner and his Northern Ontario team, who are the defending champions.  A four-point fourth end gave the Zechner squad an early 6-1 lead in the game.
