The Manitoba Bisons, skipped by Breanne Meakin, with Moncton’s Ashley Howard at third (outside of varsity play, both Meakin and Howard are members of Cathy Overton-Clapham’s rink), finished in first place with a 7-0 record, and will advance directly to the Sunday’s gold medal game, after handing the previously-unbeaten Alberta Pandas their first loss, by a 4-3 score this afternoon. The Pandas, and the third place Saint Mary’s Huskies, with Seven Mile Bay PEI native Anita Casey at second, will square off in this evening’s semi-final. They edged McMaster 8-7 this afternoon.
