PEI picks up a win and a loss today at Canadian Firefighters

The Summerside Fire Department’s Gordon MacFadyen rink picked up their first win today at the 54th Canadian Firefighters Curling Championships in Saint John NB – an 8-1 drubbing of the Northwest Territories team, skipped by Duane Debastien. They also lost a 6-5 decision to Nova Scotia’s Chester Fire Dept., skipped by Chad Stevens. PEI now sits at 1-4.

Defending champion Northern Ontario, and Saskatchewan have 4-1 records, while NS and Southern Ontario are 3-1. New Brunswick is 3-2, while Alberta, BC, and Manitoba are 2-2. Quebec is also at 1-4, while NWT are 0-5.

PEI plays New Brunswick and Southern Ont. on Tuesday. The final is on Saturday.
