Winnipeg’s Mike McEwen scored a deuce in the seventh end to defeat Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI natives Brett Gallant and Adam Casey, by a 6-4 score this evening at the 2013 Players’s Championship in Toronto. McEwen improves to 2-0, while Gushue slips to 1-2. The 2014 event will return to Summerside’s Credit Union Place.
