The Crapaud Community Curling Club is excited to announce the launch of pre-season curling that will run from September 2 – October 31, 2013.  This is a first for curling on the Island, as there are currently no curling clubs that offer pre-season curling ice.

The cost to play is $100 per player for the entire pre-season. This one-time fee will allow curlers to book ice time on a first come, first served basis 7 days a week at the club. There will also be competitive, junior, and recreational leagues set up depending on interest.  All levels of teams and individual curlers are invited to take part in this pilot project.  If successful, the club hopes to makes this an annual event.

“This is great opportunity for those looking to get on the ice early to prepare for the upcoming competitive adult and junior tournaments,  or if you just want to practice before the regular season begins.” says Ron Matters, President of the club. The club also anticipates having a ‘Learn to Curl’ program set up, as well as stick curling, ice rentals, and bonspiels.
