Webster rink, which includes PEI native Ramsay, qualifies early for money round at Edmonton cashspiel

Calgary’s Crystal Webster rink, which includes Summerside native Geri-Lynn Ramsay, are 4-0 at The Shootout in Edmonton, qualifying on the A side of the $26,000 32 team triple-knockout event, after beating Russia’s Anna Sidorova rink 5-4 in their A qualifier game. The Chantelle Eberle rink from Regina are the other A qualifiers, beating Chelsea Carey of Winnipeg in their qualifier. This earns the Webster and Eberle foursomes a day off, as they now advance to the championship round, which begins with the quarter-finals Sunday at 9 am. The semis go at 12:30, with the final at 4 pm Edmonton time.

The Webster team added Winnipeg’s Cathy Overton-Clapham to their lineup this season, replacing PEI native Erin Carmody at third. Carmody is now playing third on the Laura Crocker team from Edmonton, who are also in the event, with a 2-2 win-loss record. The Crocker foursome play another Edmonton team, skipped by Tiffany Game, in the C flight of the triple knockout at 12:30 pm Edmonton time today.
