Icemaker Bob Tucker, left, and club member and volunteer Des Arsenault were two of the individuals putting on a flood at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Fox is busy preparing for the 2013-14 season.

The Fox is inviting interested curlers to an information night to learn more about the sport on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 6:30 p.m.

“The message we are trying to get out is that curling is a fun sport and we want to invite participants of all talent levels,” said Tracey Ellis-Ballum, who co-manages The Fox with Robbie Rankin. “It doesn’t matter if you have curled before or have never made a shot, you are more than welcome to check things out.”

The ice installation has begun, and floods were being made on Tuesday. Ellis-Ballum also noted that the sign-up sheets for the different leagues are now up on The Fox bulletin board.

Along with adult programming for curlers of all skill levels, The Fox also offers a junior program. Registration for the juniors will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to noon.
