The Brad Gushue rink from St. John’s, which includes PEI natives Brett Gallant and Adam Casey, picked up a 3-2 quarter-final win against Brad Jacobs and his Sault Ste. Marie Ontario team this morning to advance to the 1 pm AT semi-final round, against the Howard Rajala rink from Ottawa, at the Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau World Curling Tour event in Gatineau Quebec.
Gatineau’s own Jean-Michel Menard, who won the event in 2009 and 2011, is in the other semi, against Guelph’s Rob Rumfeldt.
The final is at 4:30 pm Atlantic. Prize breakdown: 1st: $11,000 2nd: $7,000 3/4: $5,000 5/8: $3,500.
