Reminder: Pepsi Juniors deadline is Thursday, Scotties deadline is Dec. 11

The Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside is the host for the Pepsi Provincial Juniors Curling Championship, for curlers under the age of 21, from December 19-23 2013 (start and end dates may change slightly depending on the number of teams entered). Defending champions are the Veronica Smith rink from the Cornwall Curling Club, and the Tyler Smith rink, who also curled out of Cornwall. The winning junior men’s and women’s rinks will advance to the M&M Meat Shops Canadian Juniors, January 18-26, 2014 in Liverpool NS.

Entry deadline is Thursday Nov. 21, and team entry fee is $180. Entries must be made online at PEICurling.com. Junior entries also require a coach who is at least Level I certified.

Six junior men’s and an equal number of junior women’s teams are entered as of now.

The 2014 PEI Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial women’s curling championship takes place January 8-12 2014 (start and end dates may vary slightly depending on number of entries) at the Charlottetown Curling Complex. The Suzanne Birt rink from the host club are the defending champions. The 2014 championship team advances to the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts, February 1-9 at the Maurice Richard Arena, Montreal, QC.

Entry deadline is Dec. 11, and team entry fee is $200, plus a $35 per player per season CCA Competitor’s Fee, Entries must be made online at PEICurling.com. Two entries have been received so far. skipped by defending champion Birt, and by former champion Kathy O’Rourke.
