SUMMERSIDE – A total of 20 teams from P.E.I., New Brunswick and Nova Scotia competed in the Island Petroleum cashspiel here at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club over the weekend.
Men’s Division
The Malpeque Bay Credit Union-sponsored rink of Marc LeClair, Aidan Downey, Darrell Thibeau and Roland Richard from the host Silver Fox stole their way to victory on Saturday night.
Women’s Division
The Silver Fox/Cornwall Curling Club team of Shirley Berry, Sandy Hope, Shelly Ebbett and Arleen Harris, sponsored by Yogi’s Food and Bar, defeated the previously-unbeaten Moncton, N.B., team of Shannon Tatlock, Leanne Richardson, Shelly Thomas and Lynn L. LeBlanc, sponsored by SunLife – Kevin R. Williams Financial Services Inc., in the women’s championship game.
