Inaugural Future Scotties concludes

The inaugural Future Scotties developmental event, for Junior curlers who may one day compete in the Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial women’s championship, wrapped up today at the Charlottetown Curling Complex. As well as three draws of curling, the juniors got a taste of the “main event”, getting to attend  the Scotties banquet, and participate in the opening ceremonies.

In the final draw, Meghan Ching beat Emily Keen 8-3 in a battle between Cornwall teams, while Kaleigh MacKay and her M/ontagueCrapaud team edged Lauren Moerike and her host club team 9-8 in an extra end.

Organizers, along with the representative from sponsor Kruger Products, and the curlers all report that it was a successful event, and it is likely that it will continue in future years, and hopefully attract more curlers to the Scotties.
