The Clarey Consulting Ltd. Cashspiel has wrapped up at the Montague Curling Club.

The Rod MacDonald rink won the men’s section with a 6-1 win over Jamie Newson in the final. MacDonald was leading 4-0 after four ends, and 5-1 after six. Newson beat Tyler Harris, while MacDonald defeated Blair Weeks in this morning’s semi-finals. All four teams in the championship round are from the Charlottetown Curling Complex.

Rod MacDonald’s teammates are Kevin Champion, Mark O’Rourke, and Mark Victor. The other members of the runner-up Newson team are Andrew Robinson, Sean Clarey, and John Desrosiers, with coach Peter Gallant. Ten men’s rinks were in the competition.

The Montague club will be hosting the PEI Tankard provincial men’s curling championship from February 5-9, also with ten rinks competing.

Meanwhile, the June Moyaert rink from the host Montague club went undefeated to win the four team women’s division.
