MacKenzie moves into second place at the Brier with win over Quebec

PEI’s Eddie MacKenzie rink have moved into a 4-way tie for 2nd place, with a 7-6 win over Quebec’s Jean-Michel Menard rink tonight at the Brier in Kamloops. The Island squad, who are fighting hard to avoid relegation next year, were trailing by one coming home, scored two in the final end for the win, when Quebec’s last rock took out only one of two PEI counters, giving MacKenzie an open hit for the victory.

Manitoba’s Stoughton is still undefeated at 4-0, with PEI at 3-1, tied with John Morris (BC), Kevin Koe (AB), and Steve Laycock (SK). Quebec and Ont. are next at 2-2, with NL.

PEI faces John Morris’ BC rink in the late draw.
