Reminder about Crapaud Community Curling Club Fundraiser

The Crapaud Community Curling Club is looking to raise funds, via the indiegogo.com website  to ensure that they can continue to support and grow the sport of curling.$765 has been raised to-date.

The website states that the club is in its 50th year, and in danger of not making the 51st.

In 2011 they received a grant from the PEI Provincial Government to help renovate their aging building. The grant helped fund the planned renovations but not the unforeseen repairs necessary when renovating an older building.

Leaving the unforeseen work unaddressed was not an option, so the Board of Directors chose to complete the necessary renovations to ensure that the club would be fully operational and above all else a safe facility. This however, left the club in a challenging position. With no extra funds to pay outstanding bills, many of the hard-working contractors and local business suppliers have gone unpaid.  The club would like to resolve this situation by raising the necessary funds to pay off the contractors and sponsors who completed their work. If they do not reach our goal, they fear that they may not be able to continue to operate, let alone develop top-tier curlers or provide a venue for community or provincial curling events.

The club is offering incentives for donations, including:

•  $25.00  A Personalized Thank You Cards from The Crapaud Curling Club Board
•  $50.00  An Autographed Photo of our 2013 Provincial Dominion Men’s Champions (Representing PEI in Thunder Bay, Ontario)
•  $100.00  A Personalized Curling Rock (your choice of name e.g.: In memory of) for 3 years, with the ability to renew after 3 years.
•  $100.00 to $1000.00  Donor’s Name on their wall of donors
•  Many more perks – including On Ice Instruction!

For corporate donors, they have many advertising opportunities that exist outside of this fundraising campaign. Here are just some of the opportunities available:
•  Sign rentals above the ice surface
•  Signs in the lounge
•  Logos/text IN the ice surface

Feel free to contact The Crapaud Curling Club for more information on these sponsorship options ([email protected]).

As a Not-For-Profit organization, the club’s finances are funded by memberships, government support programs, and any monies they can procure through fundraising efforts. All  donations will be used to pay the cost over-runs of renovating the building and to purchase updated ice making equipment.

The club requests that everyone share this information via Facebook, Twitter, and any other method.
