UPEI Women’s curling team heading to Regina next week for CIS/CCA national ch’ships

The 2014 edition of the CIS/CCA University Curling Championships will take place March 19-23 at Regina’s Callie Curling Club, with the University of Regina as host.

The UPEI Panthers women’s team, skipped by Veronica Smith, are among the entries, qualifying for the event at the Atlantic championships in Fredericton in January

“CIS is delighted with the selection of hosts for the 2014 Curling Championships,” said Marg McGregor, Chief Executive Officer for Canadian Interuniversity Sport. “It is great to see the events will take place in provinces that are fanatical about curling, and universities who have a demonstrated track record of hosting excellent CIS Championships.”

The winning men’s and women’s teams will then represent Canada at the 2015 FISU (International University Sports Federation) Winter Universiade in Granada, Spain.
