Entries are due Friday for the Curl PEI Tankard Provincial Men’s Curling Championship, and the Future Tankard Under 21 developmental event. One entry has been received to-date in each event.
The Curl PEI Tankard Provincial Men’s Curling Championship, and the new Future Tankard will take place at the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton from February 6-10, 2015. Start and end dates and venue utilization could vary depending on number of teams. The winning team from the PEI Tankard will advance to the pre-qualifier round for the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier, which takes place February 28 – March 8, 2015 in Calgary, AB.
The Future Tankard is a developmental event for junior curlers who may one day compete in the Tankard and takes place on the same weekend and at the same location. Competitors from the Pepsi Junior Men’s Championship are invited to attend. Future event participants will be paired up with a Tankard team, invited to the opening ceremonies, and will play at least 3 games over the weekend.
Entry fee for the PEI Tankard is $180 per team, plus a $35 per player per season CCA Competitor Card fee. Entry fee for the Future Tankard is $80 per team.
